MISS CORNWALL CONTEST RAISES OVER £6,000 FOR NEWQUAY LIFEBOATS

The finals of Miss Cornwall were held on Friday 30th May at Buzios, Newquay. Twenty-four beautiful girls from throughout Cornwall took part in the show. Leading up to the final all contestants were given a task by organiser Becky Chapman to raise funds for Newquay Lifeboats.

The top fund raiser Sian Harris, who was sponsored by The White Hart Inn, was crowned Miss Newquay Lifeboats after raising over £1500. An award was also presented on the night to the girl who received the most text votes from the public, Karla Tellam, who was sponsored by The Tanning Studio received over 500 votes.

Miss Cornwall 2008 - Kayleigh Soltys

Kayleigh Soltys age 21 from Crantock, Newquay, sponsored by The Central was crowned Miss Cornwall 2008 by a professional panel of judges who included, Lady Helen Long, Miss Cornwall 2007, Jim McPhail, Adam Randall and Tony Townsend.

Kayleigh will now compete in Miss England which will be held on the 17th & 18th July At the Troxy, Docklands, London. The winner of Miss England will go forward to Miss World.
