crowned Miss Cornwall focuses on Miss England national final
Samantha Orpe, 22 has been officially crowned Miss Cornwall at Images
Photography in Newquay after the initial winner was stripped of her title for
falsifying her age. Samantha will now be competing with 59 other beauty queens
for the title of Miss England, to be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole as
a two day event on August 31st and September 1st.
Samantha recently was given an offer to study for a nursing degree at
South Bank University and has successfully passed the audition stage of ITV’s
‘X-factor.’ She is very skilled in performing arts as she is a trained dance
and singer. Samantha has also played some parts in the ITV hit series ‘Trial
and Retribution’ . The Brit School attendee who came out of school with a
triple distinction is now in with a chance of claiming the title of Miss
England and receive a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent England in
the prestigious Miss World Pageant.
For the first time in 22 years, the Miss England competition will be
back on TV and viewers will be able to watch the national final on The Active
Channel (Sky Channel 281) in September. Miss England Organiser Angie Beasley
said “I’m delighted that the public will get the chance to see the contest on
TV this year. They will be able to see for themselves just how much the contest
has changed over the years. The girls are taking part in fitness, talent,
sports and charity rounds … it’s so different compared to the bathing beauty contest
of yesteryear.

13 June 2009Charlotte Holmes, from Torpoint, Cornwall who was sponsored by Bar Mez , was chosen as Miss Cornwall 2009 by a professional panel of judges.
